Overview of ASF Products and Demonstration on Existing NLM Collections

Abstract: Solr and Lucene are open source search and retrieval products from the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). Dr. Navarro will present an overview of the products and a demonstration on existing NLM collections.

Bio: Dr. Aaron Navarro has worked in the IT field for over thirty five years. He’s been a principal contributor on several national projects for DoD, NASA, FAA, USPTO, and NLM encompassing systems engineering, human-computer interaction, technology transfer, informatics, digital libraries, and strategic planning. In his current position as Assistant Director for Program Development at NLM, Dr. Navarro contributes to information technology research and development programs in the Lister Hill Center.
